APPLY

Food for Health® applies clinical nutrition evidence to personalized food decisions. Its patented Efficacy Engine® evaluates ingredients in the context of individual health factors, conditions, and goals. The company works at the intersection of nutrition, consumer experience, grocery, healthcare, and enterprise technology.

Our internships offer substantive work, direct feedback, and opportunities to learn how a growing company researches, communicates, and develops its market. Applicants must be self-starters with strong time-management skills who are used to taking initiative, checking their work, and improving it in response to feedback.

The role

Help maintain and strengthen the evidence foundation behind Food for Health®. You will review existing ingredient and condition monographs, identify research updates, cross-check citations and conclusions, and prepare accurate summaries that non-specialists can understand. This role evaluates what the evidence supports; the editorial role shapes approved findings into stories.

What you will do

  • Review existing monographs for completeness, currency, consistency, and traceable citations.
  • Locate and assess relevant peer-reviewed research and identify findings that warrant further review.
  • Check study design, populations, outcomes, limitations, and the strength of support for stated conclusions.
  • Document discrepancies, unresolved questions, and proposed monograph updates for review.
  • Prepare plain-language summaries that explain findings and limitations without making unsupported claims.
  • Coordinate with editorial and web contributors so public-facing explanations remain faithful to the underlying evidence.

What you will learn

Structured literature review, critical appraisal, evidence documentation, scientific writing, and the careful translation of clinical research for consumers.

Who should apply

A detail-oriented candidate in nutrition, dietetics, public health, biomedical science, or a related field who can evaluate sources critically and explain complex findings plainly. This is a research and communications role, not a role that diagnoses, prescribes, or provides individual medical advice.

Examples of your work

Monograph review notes, citation checks, research-update briefs, evidence tables, and plain-language summaries.

Required skills

  • Mastery of English in spoken and written forms (native or bilingual fluency).
  • Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • LinkedIn, AI tools, and Google Chrome.

Work schedule

  • Flexible 15–25 hours per week as defined by you, the intern.
  • Project deliverables and deadlines are proposed or agreed to by you, the intern.
  • All equipment needed for the role is provided by you, the intern.
  • Location is remote / virtual.

Compensation

  • There is no monetary compensation for this role. We are dedicated to providing an immersive, interactive educational experience for elite performers who understand the value of the knowledge and connections they can gain by working with us. The cost of providing such an experience exceeds the compensation appropriate to the experience and abilities of applicants. If that is not the case, this internship is not offered.
  • A core company tenet is to reward exemplary performance by everyone who provides value in advancing our mission through equity ownership; this tenet also applies to interns. Any equity grant is subject to acceptance of the terms and conditions in the company’s equity grant, member control, and operating agreements.
  • Certain business-development roles that result in revenue to the company may offer commissioned compensation. Monetary compensation of any kind is subject to acceptance of the terms and conditions in the company’s contractor agreements.

What to expect

  • Substantive assignments connected to active company priorities.
  • Direct feedback and opportunities to improve your work.
  • Responsibility for taking initiative, managing time, and checking details.
  • Exposure to how a growing company maintains and communicates its clinical evidence foundation.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, pregnancy, disability, age, political affiliation, veteran status, or other characteristics.
